Tech Artist for optimization

Happy Volcano is a passionate team developing an unannounced factory automation game that aims to bring a fresh experience to the genre. We are looking for a senior technical artist who can help us optimize our factory automation game, for a period of approximate 2 months, starting as early as you are available. The game will feature a huge factory floor with a large amount of moving objects on conveyor belts and other transport systems, operators and buildings. If you like a challenge and are skilled in optimizing GPU performance, you might be the person we’re looking for! You’ll be working closely with our Art Director, tech artist intern and 3 programmers.

Responsibilities
  • Profile the game’s GPU performance
  • Achieve comparable visual results while improving performance drastically
  • Work together with the artists to significantly improve the game’s framerate

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of GPU profiling and optimization techniques
  • You’re able to efficiently write precise documentation about your findings
  • You have technical proficiency in Unity3D
  • You have excellent shader programming -and optimization skills
  • You’re an excellent communicator and fluent in English
  • You are able to work remotely during core Central European Time

 Nice to have
  • Knowledge of Nsight, PIX, RenderDoc or any other external profiling tool.
