What information do we collect?
There are two ways we collect information from our users. Implicit and Explicit.
1. Explicit Methods
Explicit is when you provide us the information voluntarily. For example when you submit a job
listing, we need to collect enough information about the job listing, external job application
link or email, the company itself, and a working email for the company itself as well.
Another example is when job seekers provide us with their e-mail to subscriber to our newsletter.
Such type of information is necessary for the operation of the site, and to deliver the value
needed by its users
2. Implicit Methods
Any visit to any page on the internet sends over certain pieces of information, that is normally
collected by sites to serve user requests, enhance the user experience, and to perform the
necessary analytics to improve the site. The user doesn’t have to provide these information.
They are automatically sent with the http(s) request, hence we refer to them as Implicit here.
We anonymously collect information about site visitors, such as user's browser,
device, and operating system. This kind of info
Cookies
We might use cookies for certain parts in the site, to provide a better experience. For example,
we could use cookies to remember you next time you visit the site, or to get you back to the
last action you were doing before asking you to authenticate.
Third-party Services
We regularly use services from other providers to provide different services of the site, and to store
and analyze all our content. For example, we use PayPal to collect payment for job listings, and this
requires the user to provide their detailts to PayPal to complete the payment. We also use Google
Analytics to track site and visitors behavior anonymously. This kind of service gives us valuable insight to
understand the site usage, and improve on the service we have to offer.
What do we do with this data?
Most common use of the data we collect is to show it on the site. Job listings, and public
company info are example of data we need to show to users of the site, to provide the service
we promise.
There are many other uses as well ofcourse, such as using newsletter subscribers' emails to deliver
the newsletter information they opted to receive. We also use analytics data to form better
understanding about our site visitors, and improve on our services. We also use performance metrics
to make sure our users are getting adequate experience when visiting our site.
What information do we share?
As a job listing site, public information that is meant to be consumed by site visitors is naturally
shared publicly for others to see. Newsletter subscriber emails however are private by nature
and we only use them internally to deliver on the newsletter service.
Third-party online services, such as Google Analytics. By placing some code on our site, they
collect pieces of information about the visitors, to help generated analytics reports. Other
services might operate in a different method as well.
Third party companies or individuals whom we employ to help us process and run certain parts of
the business might require access to some of the information. For example, if we hire a design
agency, they might require information about the demographic and usage of the site.
If the law requires that we hand over certain pieces of information, such as in case of legal
request in case of fraud, security, or criminal investigation.
We may also share aggregated information without any personally identifiable data with our
partners and advertisers, or with our users to show the trend and usage of the site.
How are changes to policy made
Policy has to change from time to time, to address certain aspects we have not before, or to accommodate
for new changes and circumstances. The continued use of Remote Game Jobs after these changes are made,
means you agree to the revised policy.
