We’re looking for a 3D Environment Artist to join our fully remote boutique videogame studio.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build and iterate on 3D assets
- Work from established design and storyboards to envision and develop models, textures for multiple landscapes
- Drive the creation of all 3D environments for the game
- Collaborate with the level designers to ensure that the environments are well suited to enhance the player experience
- Help plan out environments and asset lists and work with the producer to estimate environment related tasks
- Commit to fostering an inclusive and supportive creative culture in a diverse studio
Who we’re looking for
- 3+ years experience working in an environment art role in videogame development
- Exceptional visual and technical understanding of 3D modeling, sculpting, and texturing
- Shipped at least one commercial video game title on PC and/or console
- Proficient and comfortable using the Unity game engine
- Experience creating high-quality, stylised environment assets for Unity and applying textures, materials and shaders in engine
- Excellent creative collaboration, presentation, and teamwork skills
- Empathetic and collaborative team player with a positive and open communication style
Must-haves
- Comfortable working alongside GMT (London) time zone (offset by less than 6 hours)
Nice-to-haves
- Based in the UK (or EEA)
- Prior experience delivering a 3D first-person title
- Prior experience shipping a game on PlayStation
- Skilled in, familiar with or curious about other artistic disciplines - concept, tech art, lighting, etc.
- Experience with the Unity Profiler to find inefficient hot spots in the environment art and fix issues
