What you’ll do
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build and iterate on features from start to finish
- Create quick and rough prototypes to test ideas as well as production ready scalable systems
- Support artists, designers, writers, and sound designers by creating sustainable tools and pipelines
- Work with production and design to outline engineering tasks and identify trade-offs between design needs and timelines to help scope effectively
- Establish coding standards, encourage good practices and help manage pull requests
- Identify and fix technical issues
- Analyse performance and optimise builds based on platform requirements
- Document the systems you build for ease of understanding and future use
- Commit to fostering an inclusive and supportive creative culture in a diverse studio
Who we’re looking for
- Extensive professional game development experience in an engineering role on a team
- Experience working directly with with key stakeholders of a project
- Highly proficient using C#/Unity
- Strong programming skills and the ability to architect, iterate on, and implement clean systems
- Shipped at least one commercial video game title as an engineer on PC and/or console
- A strong generalist who is familiar with multiple aspects of game development including - AI, animation pipelines, narrative tools, localisation, etc.
- Ability to see features through from concept, development and iteration, to delivery
- Passionate about empowering, mentoring, and educating fellow team members
- Empathetic and collaborative team player with a positive and open communication style
Nice-to-haves
- Shipped a game on PlayStation
- Experience with mentoring or being a lead engineer
Location
- Open to remote candidates worldwide 🌍
- Ideal candidates have overlapping work hours (offset by less than 6h) with CET / CEST ⏱
- Preference for those tax resident in Berlin or Germany (because of grant requirements) 🇩🇪
