Melon Cube Studios is looking for a Lead Game Designer for a highly-anticipated blockchain-based game. We are currently leading the way in GameFi by developing an innovative top-down RPG pixel title, with the game having support from some of the largest and most well known investors in the gaming industry.

You will take a leading role in shaping this unique game from its inception and join a passionate team to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience. A solid understanding of RPG game design is essential to this role.

The salary for this position is between $50,000 to $90,000 a year, depending on experience. You'll also be offered generous equity and this position is a completely remote job.

In This Role You Will

Take ownership of game features from inception through to release, striving for quality while adhering to the core vision of the game
Work hand-in-hand with the art and engineering leads to ensure everyone is on the same page
Design and balance a flexible economy system - reward structures, currencies, sinks and sources aligned with the creative, game, and monetization directions
Evaluate game performance and its impact on player experience
Write detailed design documentations on game concepts
Use your knowledge of the game economy to pitch creative ideas for new features

What We're Looking For:

3+ years of experience as a game designer
Experience with designing RPG games with a history of well designed games
Strong analytical skills with top-notch spreadsheet skills
Solid understanding of game metrics and KPIs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thrives on working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Pluses:

Love of video games
Quantitative background
Understands or has personal experience with blockchain

Blockchain gaming is still in its infancy with games such as Axie Infinity soaring in value last year in 2021, with scope for massive growth in this industry this year. We think current games aren’t doing things right, prioritising income over gaming experience. We believe that games should be content-driven, community focussed and fun to play and our game is set to thrive this year on these values.
