Mid-Senior Game Designer Role
Full Time (Remote)
We're seeking a Senior Game Designer to build the core game experience from the ground up. You'll be instrumental in designing compelling systems for our new RPG, focusing on exploration, combat, farming, and crafting. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly influence the game's foundation and player engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of core RPG systems:
o Exploration: Create captivating worlds and discovery mechanics.
o Combat: Design deep, tactical, and satisfying combat.
o Farming: Develop engaging resource management and cultivation loops.
o Crafting: Build intuitive and compelling crafting and itemization.
• Translate vision into detailed design specs and documentation.
• Rapidly prototype, iterate, and balance systems through hands-on development.
• Collaborate closely with art, programming, and UI/UX teams.
• Conduct early playtests and analyze feedback to refine gameplay.
• Mentor junior designers as the team expands.
• Work closely with the production team to iterate on designs based on player feedback and creative director decision.
• Play a key role with the creative director and producer in shaping the overall vision and direction of the game.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years as a Game Designer; 2+ years in a Senior role.
• Proven expertise in RPG exploration, combat, farming, and crafting systems.
• Strong understanding of game design principles and UX.
• Proficiency with game development engines (Unity).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for RPGs and a deep understanding of the genre.
Bonus Points:
• Shipped at least one RPG title, with significant early-stage system design contributions preferred.
• Asia, Europe and MENA region is preferred.
