- Use Blueprints to wire up UI interactions, bind data, and manage UI states and logic.
- Work with game designers to translate systems and mechanics into intuitive and immersive UI experiences.
- Create high-quality UI animations, transitions, and visual effects to support gameplay feedback.
- Partner with engineers to integrate UI cleanly with gameplay systems and data structures.
- Ensure the UI is performant, scalable, and visually polished across PC and console platforms and various screen sizes.
- Own the UI asset and script pipeline to ship.
- Contribute to UI best practices and help improve tools, processes, and documentation.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in game UI development with at least one shipped title using Unreal Engine.
- Comfortable building, testing, and maintaining reusable UI components and widget systems.
- Experience creating and integrating UI-specific VFX and animations for feedback, transitions, and polish.
- Familiarity with using shaders, material animation, and Unreal’s Material Editor for stylized UI VFX.
- Advanced skills with UMG, widget hierarchies, and Blueprint scripting.
- A strong eye for visual design, layout, motion, readability, and game feel.
- Solid understanding of performance optimization, memory budgets, and platform-specific UI considerations.
Ideal candidate will have:
- UI design experience for 3D, free-camera games with inventory and map systems.
- Experience with Photoshop, Figma, Miro, Adobe XD, or other visual prototyping tools.
