Work with Sean "Day[9]" Plott on an unannounced multiplayer PC strategy game. We're funded and provide competitive salaries and benefits. We're fully remote and this job is open to Canada, US, and LATAM.

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with experience in Unreal Engine to design, develop, and maintain tools that are integral to our game development pipeline. You will collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to streamline workflows and improve productivity across the development team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Owner of team’s internal Map Editor and Unit Creation Tool
  • Develop and maintain internal tools and plugins for Unreal Engine to support game development.
  • Design and implement user interfaces for tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify tool requirements and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Optimize existing tools for performance and usability.
  • Create documentation and provide training for team members on tool usage.
  • Troubleshoot and debug tools and workflows to ensure seamless integration with Unreal Engine.
  • Assist with other full-stack engineering features as needed.
Requirements
  • Passion for one or more of the following genres: MOBA, RTS, Card, Strategy, Roguelike.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in developing tools or plugins for Unreal Engine (C++ and Blueprints).
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with game development workflows and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various disciplines.
Nice to Have
  • Experience shipping Indie, AA, or AAA video game titles.
  • UX design sensibilities.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git).
  • Previous experience in the gaming industry.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
