A career at CI Games is about being part of a team working on some of the most creatively rewarding and ambitious projects to be found in any entertainment medium. You would be welcomed to a dedicated and inclusive environment where you can learn and collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecting Strategy & Adoption
  • Define and champion a long-term strategic roadmap for the adoption of procedural generation and generative AI, identifying high-impact opportunities and guiding decisions on when to build bespoke solutions versus leveraging existing ones.
  • Foster a collaborative, cross-disciplinary culture by uniting creators from design, art, engineering, and QA to ensure new systems empower their creative ambitions.
  • Establish and uphold the studio's standards for excellence, ensuring that all procedural and AI-driven initiatives protect artistic integrity, maintain legal compliance, and secure intellectual property.
  • Partner with designers and engine programmers to seamlessly integrate pioneering procedural and AI tools into our core Unreal Engine 5 development environment.
  • This role will focus on innovating the game development pipeline while contributing to broader engineering efforts in areas like automation, testing, and general software development.
Prototyping & Development
  • Lead the exploration and development of next-generation procedural content systems and AI-assisted creative pipelines.
  • Build powerful tools, editor extensions, and innovative workflows within Unreal Engine 5 that accelerate world generation and AI-assisted content creation.
  • Strategically leverage existing generative AI models, and spearhead initiatives to fine-tune them with our in-house game assets where appropriate.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Act as the studio's authority on emerging technologies in procedural generation, generative AI, and real-time engine features.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with academic researchers and middleware vendors to bring cutting-edge solutions into our development pipeline.
  • Mentor team members, elevating their skills and promoting the effective, creative use of new procedural and AI-driven systems.
  • Inspire innovation while defining the standards and best practices that will guide our procedural and AI development.
  • Ensure the successful adoption of new technologies.
Key Requirements:
  • 8+ years of game development experience, with deep expertise in procedural content generation, tools, or pipeline engineering.
  • A proven track record of shipping multiple titles in a senior individual contributor role, such as Principal Engineer, Technical Architect, or Lead Developer.
  • Exceptional expertise with Unreal Engine 5, including C++ programming, blueprinting, and a profound understanding of engine architecture for both tools and runtime.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing sophisticated procedural content generation systems from the ground up.
  • Demonstrable experience integrating and leveraging generative AI technologies to solve complex challenges within game development pipelines.
  • Expertise in procedural asset creation and tooling, with proficiency in relevant industry-standard software and a forward-thinking approach to pioneering new solutions.
  • Strong command of modern game development pipelines, software engineering best practices, and building scalable systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead ambitious technical initiatives and inspire the adoption of new technologies across multiple teams.
  • A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and solving challenging problems.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote-first environment is a plus.
What we offer:
  • Attractive remuneration and annual discretionary bonus.
  • Generous benefits supporting your wellbeing.
  • Opportunities for professional development within a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Remote work with flexible schedules (core working hours 10am-4pm CET), allowing you to work alongside talented individuals from around the world.
  • An opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and stay at the forefront of the gaming industry.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace that celebrates all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or social status.
  • Company events and wrap-up parties, access to all games released by CI Games and company merchandise.
  • A chance to be part of something ground-breaking as we shape the future of gaming.
Recruitment Process:
  • Once our Talent Acquisition team receives your application, together with the hiring team, we will review your CV, portfolio and the answers you provided in the application form and if all the boxes are ticked, we're moving to the next stage.
  • Initial call with Talent Acquisition Specialist - During this call you'll learn about the company and we learn about you. We'll talk about your experience & expectations with working in a fully remote environment and we'll talk about your expertise. We'll finish this call with some admin questions. There will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions as well.
  • After the initial call, usually 1 or 2 interviews with the hiring team follows. These interviews will be a bit more technical and will go deeper into your experience, skills & knowledge. As you would have signed an NDA by now, you'll also learn a bit more about the project you would work on. During these interviews we'll also focus on finding out whether you're a good fit for our company culture and that we share the same values.
  • We may or may not ask you to do the test - this is decided on an individual basis and you will receive instructions with the test.
  • If everything goes well, the last step in the recruitment process is the offer presentation call with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and your future line manager to discuss the offer and next steps to get you successfully on board.
We are an equal opportunities employer, hiring and developing our best talent based on merit. Accessibility is at the heart of our games, and we are committed to not discriminating against people based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or social status.
