Stairway Games is looking for full-time Game Programmers to develop and to continue feature development for Coral Island. In 2023, we released Coral Island into Full Access, a re-imagined farm sim game inspired by the classics. You can check out the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1158160/Coral_Island/
We develop games using Unreal Engine (4.27 and 5.1), where most of our systems are built using C++, but we also welcome experienced Unity Programmers. A 2-week training and transition period are given to strong candidates without Unreal Engine experience. You will work with game designers, 3d leads, animators, and QA to prototype new gameplay features, and once approved, implement and ultimately ship it into the game build.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Implement game features in Unreal Engine 4/5 using C++
- Prototype and iterate on game mechanics
- Optimizing our game to achieve excellent performance
- Work with our 3d modelers and animators to polish the feature with production-quality assets.
- Work with Game Designers to create good tools to edit and tweak the game.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong Understanding of Algorithms
- Passion for Gaming
- High Work Ethic, we want you here to deliver a high-quality game as we do.
- Proper English Reading / Writing
- Understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts.
Big Plus:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science Majors or Game related.
- Have published a game or work on a game that is already published.
- 2 Year+ Experience as a developer in any game studio using Unity or 1-year experience using Unreal Engine.
