Stairway Games is looking for a skilled and passionate Character Artist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality stylized characters while collaborating closely with art leads and other team members to maintain strong visual consistency. This position is ideal for artists with a solid foundation in sculpting, anatomy, and stylized character design, especially those excited to work in a Disney / Pixar–inspired aesthetic.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality character sculpts based on concept art and art direction.
  • Ability to stylize characters in a Disney / Pixar–inspired style.
  • Collaborate with art leads and team members to maintain visual consistency.
  • Iterate on assets based on feedback and production need.
  • Ensure character assets meet quality and performance standards.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of educational and/or professional experience in modeling and character art
  • Strong character sculpting skills with clean, readable forms
  • Solid understanding of human anatomy and proportion.
  • Able to translate 2D concepts into appealing 3D characters.
  • Experience or strong interest in stylized character art.

Software

  • ZBrush (required)
  • Maya / Blender / 3ds Max (at least one)
  • Substance Painter (plus)

Plus : 

  • Experience working on at least one AAA game title
