Unreal Engine 4 Programmer (In house or remote)

We are looking for a talented UE4 programmer with a passion for games to join our team working on an exciting simulation title.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as well as a familiarity with C++ and blueprints.


Key Responsibilities
  • Helping drive the team forward, defining and implementing blueprints in UE4

  • Using blueprints to implement and iterate upon vehicle physics for our series of Train Sim World DLC releases

  • Being a key member of a small, agile team and have the opportunity to have input from design, through prototyping and throughout production

  • Testing, debugging, profiling, analysing and optimising your code

Commercial Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a professional games programming capacity.  Please note that this isn’t a hard requirement, but indicative of the level of experience we’re looking for in this role

Required Skills
  • Proactive, with a can-do attitude

  • Comfortable working with a team containing various disciplines

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong knowledge of UE4 blueprints

  • Strong knowledge of C++

  • A solid understanding of vehicle physics

  • The ability to work independently without close supervision

  • A passion for games

  • The ability to receive and implement feedback

Beneficial Skills
  • Familiar with a range of version control tools

  • Experience working as part of a remote team

  • Experience with multiple gaming platforms

  • Familiar with task-tracking software such as Jira

  • An interest in simulation games

  • Whilst we are based in Liverpool, the role can be 100% remote for the right candidate  We will hopefully return to the office at some point in 2021, and the successful candidate could choose to work in house if they preferred.

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK, we are not able to offer sponsorship for this position.

  • The role can be contract or full time, depending on the right candidate’s preference

We create DLC content for Dovetail Games' Train Simulator products and currently have 30+ products for sale on Steam.

We are also currently developing our own game for PC and console backed by a leading UK  publisher.  Due for release early 2021, we intend this to be the first of many new IPs for our studio.
