Job Title: Videogame Marketing and Content Artist
The Role: Create various art and video assets for Marketing needs, especially game trailers.
        Assist the production Art Team with game content as a secondary duty.
The Game: A vehicular tactical RPG videogame set in an alt-history 1930s New York City.
Experience: 3+ years of professional digital art and video experience in related fields.
Location: USA or Canada (Remote) – Must reside within the UTC-4 to UTC-8 timezones.
Team Size: 20
Pay Rate: $38 - $47 USD per hour – Depends on skills and experience.
Job Type: Contractor (Remote) – Hours may vary according to current needs.
Job Term: 7 months, maybe more depending on needs.
Portfolio Required: All applicants must submit a portfolio of their video content and  artwork.

Overview
The job has two sides—supporting Marketing, and supporting the game's production Art Team—and requires two sets of skills: video production and editing to create game trailers, interview videos, and cutscenes; and digital artwork to create promotional images and montages, photobashing, and 2D drawing to create new or to color in existing environment art. For this blended role, we are looking for a creative and resourceful artist with experience and skills creating various types of art and video assets, a logical thinker with an iterative approach to work, a collaborative spirit, and excellent communication skills. They enjoy working with talented fellow artists, writers, designers, engineers, marketers, and management.

The ideal candidate communicates effectively in a small cross-functional team environment, clearly presenting their ideas to stakeholders for signoff. They bring a passion for working within a creative development environment, with a collaborative spirit and an enthusiasm for videogames.

This is a remote contractor position requiring regular collaboration online during 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM Pacific, attending relevant team meetings (e.g. daily scrum, sprint planning, and showcase meetings). Occasional calls during early mornings and late evenings should be expected for international meetings with outside stakeholders. H-1B transfers and sponsorships are not available at this time.

Quests
  • Create videogame trailers, art montages, photo-bashes, and other artwork according to marketing needs.
  • Create engaging content from game assets for use in streaming and social media, including YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram.
  • Edit and enhance gameplay footage into compelling promotional content, optimizing video assets for different platforms, ensuring high-quality output tailored for trailers, social media, and live streaming.
  • Alter and watermark existing production art for marketing use.
  • Assist the production Art Team with cutscenes, scene coloring, icon illustration, character drawing, and other art needs as a secondary priority.
  • Work with the Marketing and Art Teams to ensure that all promotional artwork accurately reflects the game's visual design and themes.
  • Maintain artistic quality throughout the process.
  • Balance and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, working within agreed timeframes and budgets.

Character Stats
  • 3+ years of professional experience creating digital artwork and videos.
  • Strong artistic skills, able to create final, polished work from scratch while working from a brief.
  • Able to work within an established artistic style.
  • Familiar with the art styles used by other videogames for their marketing and promotion.
  • Strong self-discipline, motivated, a self-starter with a drive for excellence.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to work fast and loose or carefully with quality when each is needed.
  • Courteous and patient, able to give and receive constructive and inspirational feedback gracefully.
  • Able to work effectively with people having a variety of personalities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, resourceful, able to find solutions when needed.
  • Adept at balancing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, working within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Adaptable: The job can change according to the needs at hand and requires wearing various hats.
  • Skilled at working remotely using various collaboration tools.
  • Possess strong written, visual, and verbal English language communication and presentation skills.
  • Passionate for the videogame industry and a desire to grow within it.
  • Proficient in relevant art tools, including Adobe Premiere and After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Proficient in business productivity tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Passionate to learn new tools and technologies.
