Mysteria Studio is seeking a Performance Optimization Expert in Unreal Engine 5, for a freelance position to optimize the demo for our PC Action RPG project.
You’ll be responsible for both monitoring and improving the demo performance, for which your Unreal Engine experience and technical skills are of great importance.

We offer a fully remote work arrangement with flexible working hours.
 
Responsibilities:

· Optimize our game world for low-mid range PCs (~RTX 3060, Intel i5 10500) 

· Check current performance via Unreal Insights and similar tools

· Implement performance optimizations based on these results
  e.g. LODs, HLODs, Texture Streaming, particle effect optimization etc.

· Identify the worst offenders for performance and replace or delete them

· Create or modify existing C++ plugin and / or Python scripts for performance optimization

· Write a guide for the team on how they can avoid performance issues in the future

 

· At least 5 years’ experience working in Unreal Engine, with a focus on Performance Optimization

· Experience with Setting up HLODs, optimizing particle effects etc.

· Expert in Unreal Insights, performance tracking console commands and similar tools

· Experience with C++ programming and / or Python scripting for performance optimization tooling

· Hardware requirement: 500GB SSD space, Desktop RTX 3080, Intel Core i7 10700 or better

About Asterfel:
Asterfel is an upcoming Action RPG, inspired by the Gothic and The Witcher games series.

The player washes up on an island’s shore as a nameless nobody and must complete a large variety of quests to work their way up, to become a powerful hero. 
While monsters and magical abominations run rampant on the island, the player must quell an ancient god who threatens to rise again and wipe out the island’s inhabitants.
