This is a remote position.

We're looking for a Social Media and Community Manager who is passionate about games and can help us with strategy and implementation involved with marketing MLC's game art services and being the sole community manager of our Discord server. You'll work alongside our marketing team to help grow MLC's online presence and, ultimately, help with business growth. You will be responsible for creating engaging content to achieve our marketing goals and raise brand awareness. This is a very exciting opportunity and we're looking for someone who can take this role by the reins and really enjoy it!

Our ideal candidate is super into games, has 1-2 years of marketing experience with demonstrable creative writing skills, highly organised and a strong communicator. Bonus points if you understand the game development pipeline! You must be comfortable chatting with a large audience and have a strong moral compass that guides your voice and choice of tonality.

We’re looking for someone who is easy-going, friendly, honest and passionate about their work to integrate into the marketing team as well as the wider MLC team.

As a social media manager, it’s important you perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented whilst able to take on the bubbly MLC tone.

This is a remote part- or full-time position working as part of a distributed team. You must live within the GMT time zone and it will be necessary that you’re available on weekdays for marketing check-in calls and able to be active on socials during the day.

Take charge of social media channels
Attract future clients through increased brand awareness and reaching out to relevant people
Assist with general marketing tasks
Ensure our marketing efforts are consistently up to scratch
Assist marketing team with strategy, goals,
Engage with existing clientele through strategised and powerful Discord community management
Be a key member of the MLC team ensuring company growth

Responsibilities

Create, plan and execute fantastic social posts, as MLC's social media manager
Be our core Discord community manager to create an active server to encourage repeat custom and support our company values
Engage with our existing community/follower base on all socials
Grow and nurture our community
Assist with ad hoc / ongoing marketing tasks
Reach out to relevant accounts that will be beneficial to MLC
Manage our social accounts and help them grow
Assist the marketing team with a strategy based on what works well and how we consistently improve
Help reach our marketing and overall company goals
Understand MLC’s values and represent our company
Work closely with the marketing team as a key member
Monitor trends and new features we could take advantage of

Requirements

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

Excellent writing skills
At least a year marketing & social media management experience
Fluent in spoken and written English
Involved in the gaming world. You know your audience.
Ability to develop the right voice for each social media platform
Ability to measure and report the success of campaigns
Access to own computer
Fantastic communication skills
Awareness of the structure and culture of Discord servers
Proven history of working within the games industry
Strong knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn
Can work independently and take initiative
A love of GIFs

Knowledge of Pinterest & Artstation
Experience with Planable, Notion and Discord
Copywriting experience
Discord community management experience
Case studies from prior social media work
Design experience using Canva, Figma or Photoshop (preferably)
Understanding of game development pipeline or a passion for video games
