Game Designer Job Description 

We are seeking a Senior Game Designer with a proven track record in creating 3D RPG game prototypes and worlds. The role focuses on environmental storytelling, unique characters, engaging gameplay systems, objectives, and fun game mechanics. 
The ideal candidate should have experience working with indie games and possess excellent skills in writing comprehensive Game Design Documents (GDD), detailing epics, user stories, and subtasks. Proficiency in Unity is essential, along with the ability to communicate design mechanics effectively to the development team. A strong understanding of gameplay design, narrative design, and level design, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills, is a must. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Create and execute all game concept designs, ensuring alignment with business goals. 
  • Design game genre, levels, story sequence, characters, gameplay systems, objectives, and user experience. 
  • Develop the storyline, character descriptions, and specifications for game assets. 
  • Establish the game's aesthetics, mood, and look for market appeal. 
  • Demonstrate expertise in Git for version control and collaboration. 
  • Focus on user experience (UX/UI) to keep players engaged. 
  • Implement VFX tasks using Shader Graph, URP pipeline, and Unity's VFX Graph for visual effects. 
  • Utilize Unity's Localization features for multi-language support. 
  • Implement Unity Addressable for efficient asset management. 
  • Develop reusable and modular game components using Unity features like Scriptable Objects, Nested Prefabs, Asset Bundles, Sprite Atlases, Animations, Particles, and TextMeshPro. 
  • Ensure effective team communication to meet project schedules and budgets. 
  • Exhibit strong soft skills, including flexibility, teamwork, and cooperation. 
  • Use Jira for project management and sprint tracking. 
  • Develop early game prototypes with the team. 
  • Collaborate with programmers to integrate game design and back-end requirements. 
  • Research target audience preferences. 
  • Manage quality assurance testing and feedback. 
  • Oversee ongoing game development and updates. 
  • Stay updated on gaming industry trends. 
 
Tools and tech skills needed for the job:   
  • Solid knowledge of Unity Engine is a must 
  • Experience in Unity Localization features to support multi-language support and Unity Addressable to optimize asset management. 
  • Experience in Unity key features Scriptable Objects, Nested prefabs, Asset Bundles, Sprite Atlases, Animations, Particles, TextMeshPro to create reusable and modular game components. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Git cloud 
Additional skills:    
  • Creativity and problem-solving mindset 
  • Strong analytical mind  
  • Other game engines and 3D animations, illustration, and video editing 
  • Programming languages.  
  • Technical knowledge - understanding the software and systems that bring the game to life.
