We’re hiring and looking to connect with a 3D Environment Artists!
Edge of the World Studios is looking to connect with an Environment Designer / 3D Level Artist to help shape the playable spaces of Halima, a 2.5D narrative puzzle-platforming adventure currently in development. This role sits between level design and environment art. You’ll work closely with our Design and Art Teams to help translate gameplay, traversal, puzzle flow, and visual direction into clear, readable, and atmospheric in-game spaces. The role will focus on greyboxing, blockout, layout, scene composition, and supporting the creation of 3D environment assets.
The Project:
Halima is a 2.5D narrative puzzle-platformer inspired by folklore, mythology, and surreal dreamscapes. The game draws inspiration from claymation and stop-motion film, aiming to achieve a handcrafted, tactile feel. We’re looking for someone who can help us shape environments from an early design layout into spaces that feel playable, visually intentional, and aligned with the game’s mood and art direction.
What you’ll be working on:
We’re looking to connect with Environment Designers / 3D Level Artists who can:
- Model and refine 3D environment assets, props, architectural pieces, and set dressing elements for in-game use.
- Help translate greybox and early gameplay layouts into visually realized environments inside Unity.
- Work closely with the Lead Artist, Design Team, and Technical Team to ensure environments support gameplay readability, traversal, puzzle flow, and atmosphere.
- Contribute to level dressing, scene composition, environmental storytelling, framing, and spatial depth within playable spaces.
- Assemble and iterate on environments directly inside Unity, including asset placement, composition, and visual polish.
- Help maintain consistency in scale, visual language, modular workflows, and overall environment quality across the project.
- Collaborate across art, design, and technical disciplines to ensure environments remain practical, performant, and production-ready.
- Create and refine 3D environment assets, props, architectural pieces, and set dressing elements for in-game use.
- Build and iterate on whitebox and intermediate environment passes inside Unity to help bridge gameplay blockouts and final art implementation.

Nice to Have:
- Experience working on 2.5D games, puzzle-platformers, or narrative-driven games.
- Familiarity with handcrafted, stylized, tactile, or claymation-inspired visual aesthetics.
- Familiarity with Unity URP workflows, lighting setup, or optimization practices.
- Experience contributing to vertical slices, prototypes, or shipped game environments.
If this sounds interesting, or if you know someone who might be a good fit, we’d love to connect and share more about the project and the team.
