OVERVIEW

Production Engineers are force multipliers who use their expertise across Bungie systems and their passion for supporting others to augment the studio's effectiveness at shipping high quality content. As a Production Engineer Intern, you will train up on our proprietary technology and work alongside experienced Production Engineers to support that technology and help our game developers realize their creative and technical visions. You will also execute on an impactful project to solve a workflow problem in the studio based on your personal observations and interests.

This position is available for full-time remote work in CA, FL, IL, NC, TX, and WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn Bungie’s proprietary tools and technology
  • Shadow a Production Engineer mentor in day-to-day support work
  • Work with your mentor to identify and execute a project that will have lasting impact on a workflow’s effectiveness, including, but not limited to:
    • Make a better experience for the end user in one of our tools
    • Prototype an asset, including a deep dive on one of our content systems, and document and demo the asset
    • Learn a workflow end-to-end and give a training presentation
    • Observe a painful workflow and summarize and present findings to an engineering group that can effect change

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Service-oriented mentality (You get joy from seeing others succeed)
  • Quick learner in unfamiliar areas
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical developers
  • Demonstrated ability to break a process down into its individual steps and think about how to address each one, especially how to tell a computer to address each one

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
  • At least one of the following:
    • Training in scripting or object-oriented programming (or equivalent experience)
    • Training in game art or game design workflows (or equivalent experience)
  • Customer service experience, especially desk-side technical support experience
  • Familiarity with Digital Content Creation applications (3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, Wwise)
  • Familiarity with game development suites (Unity, Unreal)
  • Familiarity with end user UR or UX best practices

In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in CA, FL, IL, NC, TX, and WA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in CA, FL, IL, NC, TX, and WA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA, FL, IL, NC, TX, and WA will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
