ROLE OVERVIEW: We are looking for an intermediate Dev Ops Engineer who enjoys working on an agile and fast paced team that is bringing high quality VR/AR projects to life.Reporting to the Director of Technology the Dev Ops Engineer is expected to build and maintain the bridge between the development team and the game development environments. Individuals in this role are pro-active problem solvers with the ability to work effectively with large-scale systems, who demonstrate a strong dedication and passion for technology.
We are a Vancouver-based studio but are happy to consider candidates from all over BC to work remotely. We also offer relocation assistance to candidates outside of Canada
 
ABOUT YOU: You are comfortable working in a close-knit and collaborative team with a wide range of skill sets and personalities. You enjoy the creative problem-solving process required to bring original concepts and high-profile IPs to life in an immersive experience. You thrive in teams and are open to taking on new challenges to assist in raising the quality bar of the end product. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Perform system configuration, troubleshoot application, network, and source control problems.
  • Evaluate and adopt technologies to improve team efficiency and platform capabilities.
  • Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the whole team to implement best of breed technologies and provide support. 
  • Contribute to the Dev Ops processes by automating tasks and developing Dev Ops tools.
  • Manage all source control systems. 
  • Research and introduce new technologies for all employees and management.
  • Plan and execute cost-focused IT projects.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT challenges in the Studio.
  • Assist in the technological strategy in conjunction with the development team of each project: pipeline, tools, and key development procedures.
  • Scout for and evaluate new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence.
  • Oversee the technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness.
  • Assist with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of technology and data security related studio-wide policies.
 
REQUIREMENTS: 

MUST HAVE: 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Perforce or Plastic source control software. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic. 
  • A team-player attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

NICE TO HAVE: 
  • Experience working with VR/AR hardware.

We are a hybrid studio with employees all across Canada, reporting into our headquarters in Vancouver, BC. We have a new studio incorporated in Toronto, Ontario. Our Ontario studio is 100% remote at this time, with plans to open a new office in the future.
