Position Summary: Technical Director - Ai & Gameplay Systems
Must have AAA game development experience - at least three (3) shipped titles
Working with an international team on AA or AAA games in an Unreal Studio
As a Technical Director - AI, you are a subject matter expert for other engineers to rely upon
You have mastered gameplay systems and particularly AI, as well as SDK development supporting your area(s) of expertise
You will lead a group of senior and mid-level engineers in building robust gameplay and AI for customer projects as well as TLM’s own internal IP
You will work with the Head of Technology to define the future of AI & Gameplay, define architecture, plan, development and review
A hands on leader and mentor to engineers, team leadership, and technical leads
A trusted advisor to the CTO and other executive staff, comfortable interacting with C- level executives
Facilitate communication between clients, internal teams/management, and individual contributors

Responsibilities
Manage teams of engineers working on multiple different customer facing projects
Work with the other technical directors and studio leadership developing code for global development projects
Design new cutting edge AI architectures as well as contribute to the designs of other systems
Support production teams to manage feature breakdown, estimates, technical risks and mitigation
Interface between Client partners and TLM Partners
Interface with other departments providing development, documentation, influence strategy and overall direction

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10+ years of game development experience, including on recent Microsoft and/or Sony consoles
Expertise in Artificial Intelligence and gameplay techniques
Experience managing teams of software developers
Strong C/C++, optimization and debugging skills
Familiarity with current and next console SDKs, Steam, Epic Game Store,
Well-versed in PC and Console game development techniques and best practices
Great with lateral thinking and motivation to work independently and on a team as well as the ability to work directly with teams across multiple territories and time zones
Ability to create and maintain technical documentation from the beginning of a project through completion
Dedication, teamwork and professionalism
Great interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
15+ years experience in the games industry
8+ years of experience leading teams
Previous experience in the role of Technical Director, Director of Engineering, or similarly leveled positions
Systems and Network Engineering a plus
Familiarity with common game industry tools & middleware
Expertise in Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, or Graphics a plus
Experience working within Microsoft, Sony, EA, Take Two, and utilizing publishers best practices a bonus
