A Co-Op Dungeon Adventure RPG with a dark medieval setting is looking for some hands-on help with narrative elements from an experienced designer. Please review the detail below and if you think you would be a good fit, submit an application via Google Docs form with a brief introduction of yourself, your portfolio and expected compensation rate.
This role will be responsible for augmenting the project with narrative 'content' - technical data assets that contain the text and gameplay flow that the player will experience. This includes things like dialogue trees, special quest items, NPC dressing, quest logs with descriptions and steps etc. Many 'core' narrative and gameplay decisions have already been made, which will act as prompts and guardrails to ideate within. There are also out-of-engine documentation spaces which will be expected to be used as draft ideation space for review and approval before forging in-engine.
I am looking for a technically-literate author who enjoys narrative-driven experiences that are provocative and novel. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of professional (paid) experience crafting narrative gameplay experiences for players that can work independently and iterate well from feedback. This is a contracted role with flexible hours, 3 month initial duration with possibility for extension.
This is an indie project which has been in development for 8+ years and is in the late stages of production, with an anticipated to release late next year. It is set in a dark medieval world that is recovering from a war, with the player based in a mercenary faction that is sent to 'clean up / 'plunder' lingering remnants of hostile areas, dungeons, groups.
