Our journey began years ago when our founder built the game from scratch using PHP, jQuery, Javascript, and MySQL. In 2020, we embarked on a transformation, migrating the game to the Laravel framework, an ongoing process. We're also embracing decoupled microservices and containerised infrastructure to pave the way for future growth.

Horse Reality, sets a new standard for horse management games. We've meticulously recreated horse genetics, delivering a realistic experience that educates players about horse colour genetics. Join us in revolutionising the gaming industry with creativity, empathy, and a love for horses.

What We Are Looking For

We’re on the lookout for Full Stack Developers to join our team and help elevate Horse Reality to new heights. You’ll play a vital role in preparing Horse Reality for more players, ensuring it’s secure and can handle the growing community. We’re seeking proactive individuals with expertise in PHP/Laravel, strong tech skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date in the ever-evolving world of web development. Key Responsibilities

Architectural Evolution: Migrate and redesign existing functionality within our evolving architecture.
Code Enhancement: Strengthen the robustness of our codebase through refactoring, automated testing, and bug-fixing.
Innovative Development: Develop new stateless, scalable services, both API-driven and user-facing.
Performance Optimisation: Improve database performance through query profiling and optimisation.
Holistic Development: Consider security, maintenance, scalability, and more in your development efforts.
Testing and Debugging: Ensure the reliability and quality of our code through rigorous testing and debugging.
Collaborate: Review code changes from fellow developers and maintain a high standard of code quality.
Clean Code: Write clean, efficient code for both front- and back-end development.
Stay Current: Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in web development.

Requirements

Expertise: Proficiency in PHP/Laravel.
Educational Background: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Or sufficient demonstrable professional work experience.
Tech Skills: Experience with automated testing, relational databases, web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.), Git, and Linux.
Scrum/Agile: Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment.
Proactive Mindset: A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership who approaches challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final results.
Effective Communication: Fluent in English with clear and professional communication skills, along with effective time management.
EU Work Authorization: Permission to work in the European Union .

Nice-to-Haves:

Skills: Experience or interest in container orchestration tools, search databases and/or golang development.
Dutch-Speaking: Fluent in Dutch.
Gaming: A background or strong interest in gaming.
Horse Enthusiast: Familiar with horses and/or equestrian sports.

💶 Salary: Earn a gross monthly salary ranging from €2.500 - €4.000, depending on experience. Plus, a 50% Christmas bonus.

About Studio Deloryan

Our Team

We're a team of animal-lovers, makers, thinkers and explorers. We want to create games that park joy, keeping in mind your busy life. Who has time for an 8-hour long raid in the middle of the night? We sure don't.

OUR STORY

Deloryan's journey began with a childhood passion for horses, nurtured by her aunt's horse breeding farm. This early exposure to horses ignited her love for these animals. As she entered adulthood, her passion remained unwavering, leading her to explore horse-themed games.

She asked herself the question: "Where can we find a horse game tailored towards grown-ups?" Fact was, there weren't many options out there. Inspired by the desire for a different kind of horse game than the standard "unicorn-and-rainbow" experience, she set out on a journey, which was the starting point of Horse Reality.

In collaboration with a friend, Deloryan envisioned a realistic horse game that mimicked real-life genetics, breeding, and horse management. What two friends started as a lighthearted concept, Deloryan evolved into a serious undertaking.

In October 2018, Horse Reality was released and quickly gained popularity. Nowadays, in 2023, the game has a daily active player base of 10.000 players, and on average a monthly active player base of 50.000.
