THE OPPORTUNITY
We are an indie team working on a stealth and parkour action game inspired by Assassin’s Creed and Dishonored. We are seeking a Senior Level Designer to help define the levels and mission structure for our vertical slice. Our ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, comfortable owning gameplay spaces from concept to blockout, and confident using Unreal Engine and procedural tools to build compelling, traversal-focused environments. They should have strong experience crafting missions that serve both gameplay and narrative, and be able to collaborate closely with design, art, and narrative to bring our world to life.
This is a remote contract position for two months, with the option to extend based on fit and project needs. Deliverables will be project-based.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Collaborate with Design, Narrative, and Art on level and mission concepts for the vertical slice.
  • Create blockouts, mission flow layouts, and gameplay spaces that support stealth, parkour, and systemic gameplay.
  • Use Unreal Engine and procedural/world-building tools to establish efficient, iteration-friendly workflows
  • Define encounter pacing, infiltration/exfiltration routes, and sandbox opportunities aligned with player abilities.
  • Implement early mission scripting, basic triggers, and gameplay logic where required.
  • Iterate on levels based on targeted reviews, playtests, and team feedback.
  • Provide critical feedback and collaborate with the team to refine mission narratives and player progression.
  • Work closely with engineering and design to ensure levels support core mechanics, AI behavior, and traversal systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  •  4+ years experience as a Level Designer with at least one shipped title.
  •  Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine (level tools, blockouts, blueprints, basic scripting).
  •  Experience creating level blockouts and mission flows for stealth, action, or immersive sim games.
  •  Understanding of systemic gameplay, sandbox design, player readability, and encounter design.
  •  Ability to build levels that support strong navigation, stealth loops, traversal routes, and dynamic pacing.
  •  Comfortable working with procedural or semi-procedural tools, or adapting to new workflows quickly.
  •  Portfolio showcasing shipped work, blockouts, greyboxes, or mission design documentation.
  •  Self-starting, organized, collaborative, highly motivated, and comfortable working in a fully remote team.
  •  Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
PREFERENCES
  •  Experience on stealth or parkour-heavy titles.
  •  Experience designing missions for vertical slices or early production phases.
  •  Experience collaborating with engineering on bespoke tools or level-design pipelines.
  •  Familiarity with immersive sim philosophies, AI behaviors, and player ability-driven design.
