We are looking for a Mobile Game Artist for our upcoming game Outland Odyssey!
THE JOB
ProjectSEED is looking for a well rounded artist with experience in mobile game asset creation. Must know how to texture in Substance Painter. Would know how to use generators, hand paint, masks, and proper exporting of textures. Abilities to work with a team and utilize constructive criticism. Able to follow concept art for reference. You will be working alongside other artists in the Characters team and Texturing team to bring our characters to life with the creation of high quality retopology and LODs for mobile games and also when needed, help create beautiful textures in the style that our game is known for. You will work in an inclusive environment where you can learn and collaborate with other talented people in the project. We hope you have a strong portfolio demonstrating your skills in mobile game asset creation, good topology practices and beautiful texturing skills.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Working with the Lead Character Artist and other Character Artists to turn models sculpted in zbrush to game resolution.
- Create good and organized UVs ready for baking and texturing
- Optimize even further the retopologized model to a level of detail that is compatible with mobile games.
- Keep up with production deadlines.
- When needed help working with the Texturing team with hand painted style textures for Armor, creatures and NPCs.
What will help you to be successful in this role?
- At least 1+ year of experience in mobile game asset creation and LODs creation.
- A good understanding of topology for Animation in lowpoly characters.
- Autonomy and problem-solving-oriented mindset.
- Experience with texturing.
- Basic technical understanding of animation and Unity shaders for mobile games tools/shader is a plus.
- Traditional art skills & 2D skills are a plus.
- Fluent written and verbal English skills.
- Passion in video games.
- PLUS: Can model, sculpt and unwrap textures. Can set up Substance files for texturing.
Software experience Requirement:
- Substance Painter
- Adobe Suite (Mainly photoshop)
- MS Teams
- Asana (is a plus)
- Unity (is a plus)
- General knowledge about: Blender, Maya, 3d studio max, and Zbrush
