The Technical Art Producer manages and oversees the art production process. You will constantly be working with Game Producers and Art Directors to ensure that visual goals are achieved through the use of new tools, practices, and other means that otherwise cannot be achieved through conventional art production pipelines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Understand projects’ art directions and oversee their technical art requirements within the current production process
- Define the technical constraints of art production and improve processes to simplify production
- Suggest and guide the development of best practices, solutions, and tools
- Keep up to date with technological developments and push improvements within the department
- Foster good communication with the creative and technical teams by bridging the gap between the two fronts of development
- Help assess costs associated with art production
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the following technologies and pipelines
- Game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity)
- Shader development and materials
- Scripting and Tool Development
- Optimization Techniques
- Visual Effects (VFX)
- Lighting and Rendering (lighting setup and post-processing effects)
- Good problem-solving skills
- Clear communication skills
- Strong time and organizational management skills
- Strong sense of creativity to enhance the quality of assets while meeting performance requirements
