We are building a stylized anime action RPG in Unreal Engine (PC + Mobile, crossplay). For a 15 minute Gamescom demo (target: August), we are producing a small set of high impact in game cinematics (Level Sequence / Sequencer) plus optional hybrid storytelling (motion manga panels).
We are looking for a Remote Storyboard Artist (Freelance) who can turn written beats into clear, cinematic storyboards that communicate emotion, staging, camera language, and pacing for a game engine production.
You will work closely with our Cinematic Director, Narrative Design, and Game Design.
Your mission
- Translate narrative beats into strong visual storytelling: composition, camera, staging, pacing.
- Provide boards that are immediately usable for shot lists, previs/layout, and animation production.
- Help us hit a clear AA quality bar with a scope that is realistic for a demo timeline.
- ResponsibilitiesBreak down scripts into sequences, shots, and story beats together with the Cinematic Director.
- Create storyboards for multiple scenes (action, acting, and atmosphere).
- Define camera intent per shot: framing, lens feel, camera movement direction, and cut rhythm.
- Indicate key acting beats and readability: silhouettes, line of action, staging clarity.
- Deliver boards in an agreed format (PDF + source files), with quick iteration on notes.
- Help design motion manga panel layouts and transitions
