NOWWA is searching for a highly talented and self-motivated UI Programmer/Tech Artist to bring the BulletVille user experience to our community. The ideal candidate will be able to work with the UI/UX team to integrate their Art and Design faithfully into Unreal Engine, develop smart and dynamic systems to handle our unique UI needs/goals and also be able to animate and bring to life the UI assets in UMG. They will be able to solve problems/blockers or preferably see and prevent them beforehand entirely. They will have a great attention to detail and an incredible eye to catch issues, define their causes and find/provide solutions quickly. They will be the last hands on filter in making the UI work and look great for the end users.
Responsibilities
Work inside Unreal Engine, manage assets and optimize for performance
Work directly with Artists and Designers to determine functionality and needs of UI system
Implementation of assets into Unreal Engine’s UMG system
Animations of UI elements for Menus, HUD, and more
Attend meetings and playtests to coordinate with team and provide feedback
Prototype new elements for fast iteration and put final polish when complete
Oversee all final asset needs entering the engine and adhere to our Style Guide
Maintain a high bar of Quality and visual polish
Qualifications
Experienced with UI / UMG in Unreal Engine 4/5
Fully capable in Blueprints; C++ a bonus
Technical Art skills including optimization, performance, etc.
3+ years in game development UI Pipeline with shipped titles
Excellent Eye for Quality & ability to constructively critique and receive feedback
Great reading & writing skills in English; Spanish and Russian a bonus
Ability to problem solve, but more importantly, prevent
Self motivated and proactive, can take ownership of their duties
Nice to Have
Knowledge of Art and Design principles like Color Theory, Shape Language, Composition, etc.
Knowledge of Art and Design packages like Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Maya, etc.
Experienced in other areas of Game Tech Art outside of UI
