Fundamentally Games works with developers and organisations to transform games into living games, providing ‘liveops-as-a-service’ to get more players, doing more things, more often, for longer.

We’re a small but growing diverse team, and we value work life balance, so we have flexible working policies in place, subject to a few conditions and the requirements of projects you may be working on of course! Firstly, we all work from home (or from a local hot desk) and (when there isn’t a global pandemic) meet up in person around once a month, usually in London. We have flexible working hours to support our team to be able to do their job around their personal commitments. For example, if you have kids you can work between the hours your children are in school, or you can do more hours a day and only work 4 days a week. We also let you work on personal projects and actively encourage you to take part in game jams, industry events and activities that will help you build your career as well as your role with us.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an entry level role for someone who wants to build a career in the games industry. The ideal candidate is a graduate of either a games or sales/marketing related degree, or has equivalent experience, with demonstrable knowledge of games and the games industry, and sales/marketing. As we all work remotely, you need to be great at communication and self disciplined.

Your role will be to assist in the management of our sales pipeline, setup and undertake business development meetings, manage attendance and scheduling of events, assist with general marketing of the business across its various channels, and support the management team, in particular with sales and marketing related activity.

This role is intended as an opportunity for someone who is seeking to enter the games industry, or has already started their career in the industry. Therefore, it will support personal development and will enable the candidate to expand their skills in their areas of interest.

The role is full time but with flexible hours, working from home in the UK. You must be able to travel nationally and internationally regularly (once the pandemic is over), for client meetings and industry events.

Your responsibilities will be varied, but will include:
  • Researching and identifying target clients 
  • Assisting in managing our sales pipeline, including assigning and managing actions, to ensure leads are followed up through the pipeline process
    • Managing follow ups and leads, and being first point of contact for potential clients
    • Making first contact with potential clients to arrange meetings
    • Maintaining positive relationships with leads and clients to ensure future sales
    • Note taking in meetings
  • Selling the company’s services to potential clients
    • Preparing and delivering sales presentations
    • Organising and scheduling attendance and meetings at industry events, and attending yourself nationally and internationally
    • Being an evangelist for the company
    • Recommending changes to processes, materials and business offering based on market analysis and feedback
  • Assisting in managing marketing channels and activities for the company, such as Twitter, Eventbrite, Discord, Mailchimp, company website 
    • Assisting in creating marketing materials and copy
    • Organising company events such as webinars
  • Keeping management informed by submitting regular reports, having regular calls
  • Supporting the management team, particularly but not limited to sales and marketing activity
  • Reporting to the CSO (Chief Strategy Officer), and work closely with the rest of the team
  • As we’re a small team, other tasks as needed that may or may not relate directly to sales and marketing
ABOUT YOU
You must:
  • Have a degree or equivalent experience, in games or sales/marketing related subject 
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including being a good listener
  • Be confident about meeting new people
  • Be quick thinking, able to make decisions under pressure, handle uncertainty and ‘spin multiple plates’
  • Able to apply systems thinking to solve problems
  • Be a fast learner and not afraid to ask for help
  • Be happy to turn your hand to any task
  • Be able manage multiple very different tasks at once
  • Be very organised and able to organise others
  • Have demonstrable knowledge (and be very passionate) about games and the games industry
  • Have demonstrable knowledge about sales and marketing techniques
It would also be great if you have some of the following:
  • Experience in the games industry, whether it’s paid work, attending events, game jams, or engaging on twitter
  • Experience or knowledge of sales and marketing within the games industry
  • Knowledge of managing pipelines via Pipedrive
  • Knowledge of building or managing websites using Wordpress
  • Knowledge of managing and using Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of setting up and managing Eventbrite events
  • Experience of running social media channels
  • Experience of running Discord servers
THE DETAILS
  • Salary: £20k
