Enhearten Media is hiring a Map maker/texture artist

We're currently working on our first commercial title, Sanctuary,  grand scale RTS. We're looking to hire multiple Map Designers on Freelance basis to design various levels for the game. You will be using our own internal tool to accomplish that task.

Payment: 400€ / map. Our expectation is that each map will take a week to finish

  • Design the various maps for Sanctuary using our own editor tool
  • Map needs to be made up of multiple smaller textures (we can't accept one that uses one giant texture for the entire map)
  • Map needs to use the 9 layers our map editor provides this way it looks crisp at any zoom level
  • Map needs to be playable in an RTS (tons of flat space or lo incline planes, mountains and hills and bodies of water used as choke-point but not too narrow). We can provide a 2D drawing of what I want for the map
  • This job is open for Entry Level Designers. We would love to give you a chance to show your skills
  • Interest in RTS games is a big bonus
  • Any prior experience building custom maps for other RTS games is highly preferred. Please do share if you have any.

in our Official Sanctuary RTS Game Discord in the #available-files channel you can find a google drive link to our map editor.

Use the map editor to create (or finalize the map) you can use other tools to complement, but in order to create the texture layers and, using the Sanctuary Map editor, export to our map format. We vow to not use any of the submissions in-game, this is simply to test your skills and to see if you can do the job.

About Enhearten Media

The idea with Sanctuary RTS is to make a strategy game that takes cues and improves upon Chris Taylor - style RTSes and bring them into the modern era while filling that specific niche.

The company is filled exclusively (so far, it's not a requirement for to apply to this job offering) with people who are enthralled by this genre of video game and who dream of seeing a good successor step in. From the models to the technical challenges to the game design, the specifications of this genre are something we are intent on following even if we do have special ideas that we think will fuse with this genre to the point of becoming indivisible.

We're international, our biggest hub is Poland, then England, then the Netherlands, then Australia, then Germany, then France, ect. We are making a game targeted towards an international community, we want our company to reflect that. English is the language we interact with. We use discord as our main mode of communication and coordination. We use a GitHub board to track progress. We develop according to scrum principles. We use git for versioning. We can't not act as one family.
