We are looking for a passionate artist that would become a member of our core team. As a core team member you are able to set  yourself and the studio up for long-term success.
We are looking for someone with a versatile portfolio and extensive experience in game development under their belt but who is still hungry for more.
As we are striving to make games that we are passionate about and can be proud of, we expect the same from others in our team to foster a studio that delivers greatness to our players. As a Lead Artist you are sharing the same goals and will help build a studio that gets more done than seemingly possible.
You will join our fully remote team and work self-driven with a heap of responsibilities that you know how to juggle in a remote and asynchronous environment. We are utilizing a 4-day workweek from Monday through Thursday.

Who you are:
  • Visionary Artist: You are able to imagine how a game should look like and describe what is needed to get us there.
  • Social Gamer: You play games with a passion and you enjoy playing them by yourself, with your friends and/or colleagues.
  • Technologist: You are always looking for new technologies to improve your workflow (i.e. plugins, scripts for Maya/Substance/Photoshop etc) and internal prototyping (i.e. quick sketching, photobashing, gen AI etc).
  • Hands on: You are capable of working in the Engine and integrating assets in the game.
  • Communicator: You seek communication with team mates pro-actively and you excel at communicating as you move.
  • Pragmatic: You enjoy working ad-hoc without long processes and you thrive in an environment with constantly emerging opportunities and challenges.

Some of your role:
  • You will create and maintain the art visions for our games going forward.
  • You will work with contractors and freelancers to multiply your ability to create Art as you envisioned.
  • You will help integrate creative assets into our games using Unreal Engine.
  • You will become a leader & manager for creative members of the team as we organically grow beyond the core team.
  • You will work with the rest of the team to determine what our games should be and how to find the fun.
  • You determine our digital content creation tool stack and set the best practice for our asset creation.

Desired Skills:
  • You have experience developing diverse types of game content: environment and characters, as well as optimizing it for the game engine.
  • You have created 3D assets using industry standard software (Maya/Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer) and a portfolio that showcases that.
  • You have experience working with version control
  • You have managed / led internal and external artists before.
  • Skills in adjacent disciplines like UI/Animation/VFX/ConceptArt/Lighting are a strong plus.

There is a 3 month probationary period to evaluate your fit for the team and role, after which your salary will be increased. The specific conditions of the probation period will be discussed with you during your interviews.

About 5350 Studios inc.

5350 Studios Inc. is a recently founded studio. The company's name is temporary until we have found an inspiring name that fits the company and team we are building. We are a group of game makers that returned to indie after working in more “traditional” game development environments.
We’ve recently received funding from two private investors and are set to deliver high quality games with a sustainable and small team. With a realistic outlook and achievable goals, we are now looking for additional talent to join our small team.
