We are seeking a talented UI Artist to join our remote team working on an exciting family-friendly IP at Zelgor Games! You’ll be working with our Art Director and Lead Concept Artist to transform UX mockups into final UI elements for the Unity game engine. The ideal candidate will be a great team player who is self-motivated and can thrive in a collaborative environment.

What You Will Be Doing

Participate in the creative process;
- Work with the Art Director to analyze references and concepts to create UI elements that match the visual style of the game
- Assist in the creation of the UI Style guide by asking questions, suggesting solutions, doing research when necessary, and documenting technical specs/process as you go
- Iterate with a highly UX-literate team on readability, intuitiveness, and accessibility of in-game User Interfaces
Bring in-progress and placeholder screens to completion
Create UI elements for Menus, Buttons, Icons, and more
Collaborate with engineers and the Art Director to ensure that assets fall within set parameters in regards to performance and best practices
Create clean, polished vector versions of concept art for use in the game

For this position, we’re looking for:

Mobile App UI expertise including:
- Creating beautiful and responsive Interfaces for unity using 9-slicing and vector graphics
- Creating readable and intuitive Icons that match the style of the app and IP
- Creating elements that have state changes
Experience with 2d animation
- Creating animated elements such as shines and transitions to draw the player’s eye
- Ideally implementing it in Unity
An eye for detail
- Pixel-perfect alignment, spacing, etc…
Someone who has created high-quality shipping UI and needs very little direction
- A self-starter who knows what questions to ask and can help efficiently guide the process
- A production artist who is good at time management with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and finish on time, knowing when to stop and move on to the next thing
One or more shipped mobile apps where you created User Interface elements
A portfolio showing high quality illustration work and animated motion graphics

Bonus points for experience with:

UX:
- A solid understanding of UX design principles to reduce iteration and participate with the team on improving the game
Web development
- Creating UI for the web and social media in addition to Unity Apps
Tools:
- Perforce
- Filecamp
- JIRA
- Slack
