We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team working on an exciting family-friendly IP at Zelgor Games! You’ll be working with our executive team to plan, schedule, and run the day-to-day logistics of our virtual remote game development team and help us grow. The ideal candidate will be a great team player with exceptional soft skills.
What You Will Be Doing
- Schedule and run scrum meetings for our virtual remote team
- Administrate Jira tasks and sprints, turning the backlog and project priorities into regular, stable software iterations
- Help the team achieve milestones and objectives, bringing out the best in each team member and supporting their productivity with flexible, customized approaches to each individual
- Facilitate removal of impediments and proactively improve processes
- Create Project Management Artifacts such as road maps/milestones and burn-down/burn-up/velocity charts then communicate them to the team
- Use these tools to adjust the levers of scope, deadlines, team size, and contracting/outsourcing to achieve company goals that match reality as closely as possible
- Have regular one-on-ones with team members and support the goal of keeping everyone sufficiently aware of big picture objectives and how they are meaningfully contributing
- Take meeting notes and timekeep when necessary
- Assist all departments with wiki documentation and proactively fix outdated information after meetings
- Work with executive management to support a world-class company culture, assisting in planning and running team-building and morale activities while working remotely
- Participate in the creative process
- Participate in Design meetings and give feedback
- Participate in Playtest Thursdays and run Bug Triage Meetings, updating Jira bugs with assignments, priorities, and sprints
- Proactively identify areas of inefficiency and gaps in communication then take responsibility for coming up with solutions
- Support hiring for other positions with outreach, communication, and scheduling as well as assisting the CEO with logistics and onboarding
- Manage relationships with outsource studios and contractors, working with the management team and discipline leads to facilitate communication, contracts, and budgets
- Assist in building our production and QA infrastructure as we scale up, and eventually training junior production team members
For this position, we’re looking for:
- 2+ shipped projects and experience with every stage of development
- Prototyping, Production, Release, live updates
- At least one live game with regular content releases
- Ideally at least one mobile project (not required)
- 10+ years of experience
- Fluency and speed in remote collaboration software, including Google Suite, Slack, Jira, and Confluence
- A friendly and positive attitude
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Extremely good communication skills and Emotional Intelligence
- Excitement about our company vision and roadmap
- Meticulous follow-through
