Overview
At Steel Wool, we’re searching for an experienced, driven producer to help lead our development team. As a producer, you would work with the team leads and executive producer to ensure that deadlines are met on time and on budget. You will be able to manage your projects and publishers with the support of the production team. You will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement to the studio’s development process.
We are looking for individuals with confidence in their ability to drive change within the studio. We want producers who thrive in a collaborative environment and seek out challenging problems to solve with the internal teams and external partners.
As a team member for our studio, you would have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of projects. You would primarily contribute to a single initiative at a time but may be asked to work on multiple smaller projects at once. Your approach should drive meaningful and measurable enhancements within the organization.
As a producer at Steel Wool, you would…
- Work with the team to create project plans, track deliverable execution, and manage publisher expectations
- Build the maturity of the development team to execute at improving levels of efficiency
- Use your knowledge and application of project management methodologies to track progress and forecast the future of the projects you manage
- Communicate project health, timeline, and budget status to the executive producer
- Be accountable for milestone commitments, deliveries, and quality targets
- Collaborate directly with the publisher to understand their needs and feedback while maintaining manageable project scope
- Convey publisher feedback to the development team and facilitate the ingestion of that feedback into project milestones
- Be responsible for maintaining the project timeline and project plan as the project evolves
- Work with associate producers to manage the Jira backlog and confluence for your projects
- Monitor, upkeep, and report on the project bug database
- Facilitate daily scrum proceedings and remove impediments for the development team
- Work with the producers and discipline leads to improve the development process
- Be the primary owner and driver of the console submission process
Looking for someone who has…
- Practical experience applying project management methodologies to game development
- Proficient in utilizing and driving the integration of project management software
- Superb business presentation and facilitation skills
- Exemplary leadership capabilities and a strong drive for process improvements
- Outstanding analytical skills to understand, seek and solve complex development problems
- Ability to self motivate and motivate others
- The desire to holistically own a project, deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards
- Experience collaborating with and leading a production team
- Working knowledge of VR games and development pipelines
Pluses
- Experience managing outsourced teams
- One or more shipped titles using Unreal Engine
- Fluency in Jira and Confluence with familiarity around associated plugins
- A passion for project management and relationship building
- Experience with and knowledge of VR games and development pipelines

We are offering a starting salary of $75,000 - $120,000 USD depending on experience and subject to market rate.
