Project SEED, a leading blockchain-based game company, is seeking a talented and passionate Technical Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Artist, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between creativity and technology, ensuring the seamless integration of visual and technical elements within our web3 games. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the art pipeline, from asset creation to implementation in the game engine, ensuring optimization and technical compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the art director and art team to define and maintain the visual style of the game, ensuring consistency across all assets.
- Create visual prototypes and mockups to test new environment ideas and align them with the creative direction.
- Design and implement shaders and lights to enhance the visual quality of the game.
- Optimize the game's visual and technical performance to ensure smooth operation on various devices, including mobile and low-end hardware.
- Conduct quality assurance testing, debugging game content, and troubleshooting technical issues throughout the development process.
- Prepare technical documentation, including asset creation guidelines, technical specifications, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, preferably with web3 or blockchain-based games.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard game engines: Unity
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software, such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
- Knowledge in Houdini Engine is a plus.
- Familiarity with shader development and implementation for baked-light rendering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions to technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of optimization techniques for real-time rendering and experience with performance profiling tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for blockchain technology and a keen interest in the web3 gaming space.
