PR Intern

Internship
European Time-Zone Preferred
Are you looking to get a foot into the games industry with a PR and communications focus? Do you love indie games? Do you want to learn more about how to promote them?
Well, good news: we’re looking for an intern to join us for August and September 2020, working fully remote, and part-time.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Help us out with research, learning more about the games and media landscape in the process.

  • Help us out with reports.

  • Draft materials and brainstorm with us.

  • Possibly more depending on your interests and previous experience.

  • Learning loads about how things work: PR, community management, indie game development…

Who we’re looking for:
  • A little bit of experience helps, but it’s not necessary. A willingness to learn, attention to detail and a proactive attitude are more important.

  • Someone with a passion for indie games who wants to hopefully make a career out of promoting them.

  • A self-organised person: we work remotely, so being able to participate even when working from home is essential!

  • Ideally someone in the European time zones, able to set aside either a couple of days a week or  a few hours a day (TBD).

  • Bonus: Any extra skill you would like to bring to the table and/or develop!

Some important points:
  • This is a paid opportunity! Not much unfortunately, as we’re still a small company, but work always deserves compensation.

  • If you are based outside of the UK, you would need to be able to invoice for your work (freelance or otherwise).

  • This internship is compatible with university programmes.

  • We very strongly encourage people of marginalised backgrounds to apply!

Interested? Send us a cover letter with a bit of info about yourself and why you want to join us for this internship, a CV and a paragraph pitching us your favourite game.

About Player Two PR

Player Two is your specialist indie games PR sidekick, whether you make PC, console or VR games and experiences.

We'll make sure the game you've spent months (or years) making isn't gathering digital dust on fifty people's Steam shelves. Admit it, that would be pretty sad.

Every studio, every game is unique. We always handle each campaign according to your own needs and wants, working hand-in-hand on the best strategy and messaging to suit you, before making the magic happen.

We believe in amplifying your message and letting your personality shine, not toning it down - because quite frankly, that'd be boring. And we don't do boring. For that matter, we don't do BS or cookie-cutter approaches either (although we do love cookies.)

Player Two PR is run by Charlene Lebrun, previously International PR Manager at SEGA Europe where she led PR campaigns for Total War: Three Kingdoms, Shenmue and Two Point Hospital. She’s always loved working with indie studios and you can see a few of her campaigns here. She loves gigantic cups of coffee, long walks on the beach and bad puns. She hates people who write about themselves in the third person, funnily enough.
