KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform one of the most important roles in game development to guarantee performance stability and quality consistency in the final product.
- Testing, analysing, and recording any flaws or bugs.
- Systematically test the game throughout the full development cycle.
- Analyse and improve the game's performance by tracking crucial metrics.
- Inspect game assets and ensure they meet the established quality standards.
- Playtest the game daily to focus on specific aspects or explore creatively.
- Record the results in the form of videos, screenshots and descriptions.
- Execute on test plans and actively seek ways to optimise and improve them.
- Adopt, create and execute test cases focusing on specific features of the game.
- Utilise and help develop automated tools and scripts.
- Provide elaborate statistical reports based on critical KPIs.
- Create bug reports and manage the bug entry database.
- Collaborate with production to help troubleshoot issues.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure content quality standards are maintained.
- Understanding of the art production and integration workflows, along with their associated requirements.
- Ensure quality standards are met in the final product.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, providing visibility to relevant stake-holders.
- Onboard and become adept at the client’s preferred game engine, project-specific pipelines, workflows, tools and shipping platforms.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and quality enhancement within the QA team and across the development pipeline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience as a QA on AAA, AA and mobile platforms.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise reports.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make proactive decisions.
- Understanding of game development processes, industry-standard production tools, and industry trends.
- Passion for video games and working with teams to develop them.
- Up to date knowledge of the latest art, design and cultural trends, along with advancements in technology and the games industry.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, ADO) and version control systems (e.g. Perforce).
