VR Programmer Co-op (Unity)

Duration: Full-time opportunity (4 months + possibility of extension)

Location: Remote but must be living in the Greater Vancouver Area


Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain C# code that will be deployed to thousands of people
  • Work closely with designers to implement gameplay and interactive features / functionality using Unity
  • Create and improve tools as necessary to support specific features
  • Continuously test, debug, profile, analyze, and optimize on applicable hardware
  • Review and test features / functionality developed by the team and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute innovative and original ideas on all aspects of virtual reality production and development
  • Contribute to project wiki and other supplementary documentation
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings (online) and weekly check-in meetings (in-person)
  • Track tasks using a time-tracker application i.e. Toggl
  • Respond promptly to Slack messages

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C#
  • Strong desire to write clean and optimal code
  • Min. 8 months of experience using Unity 5 or above (game jam & hobby projects are counted)
  • Min. 1 VR or AR project where you were the lead developer
  • Min. 1 3D project where you were the lead developer
  • Strong 3D math and geometry knowledge (eg. vectors, vector operations, matrices, matrix transformations, Euler angles, and quaternions)
  • Willingness to tackle new challenges outside of your comfort zone
  • Self-driven and self-motivated in a home environment
  • Disciplined without needing constant supervision
  • Strong communicator (in-person, email, instant messaging, webcam meetings)
  • Punctual with deadlines

Nice to haves:
  • Past experience working remotely
  • Owns a VR headset (i.e. HTC Vive / Oculus Rift)
  • Experience using Trello, JIRA, Plastic SCM, Perforce, and related technologies
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum workflow
  • Participation in game jams and hackathons
