The game:
A narrative-driven 3D puzzle adventure about grief and legacy, set in a fantastical rendering of the Arabian Golden Age. Through nonviolent puzzle gameplay inspired by Middle Eastern philosophy & inventions, players experience the hopeful but honest journey of a 14-year-old girl in the wake of losing her voyager Father.
The role:
We're looking for a talented & experienced Narrative Designer who can step in at a relatively advanced stage in the project. You will work closely with our Game Director, junior narrative designer, and a writer on effectively delivering an emotionally resonant story in the context of a 3rd person 3D puzzle adventure game.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Narrative Designer
- 1+ comparable shipped title credited as Narrative Designer
- Familiarity with Articy
Responsibilities:
- Do an in-depth pass on story outline and delivery with Game Director, junior ND, writers, and other stakeholders to trim current narrative into a cohesive and emotional core
- Lead and manage Narrative team
- Represent Narrative in team-wide meetings
- Polish placeholder text and high-level direction into final, voice actor-ready dialogue
- Provide editing/feedback to craft consistent character voices and highest impact for player experience
- Oversee VO process from deciding approach through casting, recording, and take selection
Bonus:
- Technical capabilities in Unreal
- Context for Arabic language and cultures is a plus but not required; our team has consultants for authenticity
The details:
- Starting ASAP, with final script lock September and VO recording in English + Arabic dub in October
- Remote position with distributed team
- Will work closely with team members across time zones including the US West Coast, East Coast, and the Middle East
