About us

Are you interested in joining a team working on one of the foremost technologies in the video game industry today? Our middleware, Kythera AI, is the most advanced end-to-end AI solution on the market. We provide our technology to studios ranging from independent to AAA in a broad range of genres, support them in delivering great games with exceptional AI, and work side by side with a select few to directly shape AI in their titles.

Our mission is to fill virtual worlds with intelligent life in games and beyond — building from our core focus in video game AI into wider industries such as simulation and broadcast media, bringing the new digital worlds of the future alive.

Overview

Reporting to our Operations Lead while also working closely with marketing, the role of Sales & Account Executive will be responsible for creating and qualifying new sales leads, building engagement with new contacts, and helping to maintain relationships with both existing and new clients, who are typically AA or AAA studios developing complex games. Given our work, it’d be beneficial for you to have an understanding of the games industry and be comfortable with handling conversations with clients around technical products; however, direct sales or client relationship experience is a bonus but not required.

As a hybrid/remote-first company, it’s essential that you have strong interpersonal and remote working skills in order to collaborate effectively with the entire team. You’ll need to be proactive about solving problems and comfortable with asking questions when necessary. Lastly, personal initiative, time management skills, and the ability to multi-task will be key for success.

What you'll be doing:
  • Getting actively involved in the end-to-end sales process to ensure potential customers have a consistent, positive experience with timely responses
  • Maintaining our CRM system and ensuring all new leads are properly processed
  • Developing our marketing leads into sales-qualified leads through the use of Discovery Calls
  • Preparing sales-related documents for formal signing
  • Arranging sales calls and technical conversations between clients and our engineers, ensuring any agreed next steps are recorded and acted on
  • Check-ins with customers to ensure they’re happy with their current support services
  • Regular market research to identify and profile new customer targets
  • There may also be opportunities to travel and attend conferences or events
Examples of experiences that will aid success:
  • Confident written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to network and negotiate effectively
  • An understanding of CRM tools, ideally Hubspot
  • Previous experience in sales and/or client relationship management
  • Previous experience of pipeline management and reporting
  • Comfortable working with clients across multiple time zones
  • Familiarity with sales models and techniques, such as solution selling
  • Experience of working in a SME environment
  • A good understanding of the games industry
It is not required to tick all of these boxes; if you feel you have relevant transferable skills rather than direct experience, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway.

What we can offer you

  • Private healthcare
  • Flexible and accommodating working hours
  • A focus on mental health with access to an employee assistance programme and #LevelUpMentalHealth resources from Safe in Our World
  • Employee referral scheme
  • Opportunity to work from our office in Edinburgh or fully remotely in the UK
  • Employee share option scheme

Our interview process

We plan to have 2 stages:

Stage 1: An initial call with our Operations Lead and our Marketing Lead to get to know you better and explore your experience so far.
Stage 2: If we feel you’ll be a good fit for the role, you will then have a skills-focused interview where we’ll look closer at your skills and experience within key areas for this role.

We want to set you up for success and make our recruitment process as accessible as possible. When you apply, let us know if you need anything to make your experience more comfortable and we'll do our best to support you.

Please apply with a short cover letter explaining why you're interested in the role and in working with Kythera AI. Applications without a cover letter are unlikely to be considered.
