🔍 About the role
At Karta, we're dedicated to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in game design. As a QA Lead, you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to delivering top-notch gaming experiences to our players.
🤓 Key Responsibilities
- Extensive testing experience with metaverse gaming products, rigorously testing functionality, performance, and user experiences across various devices and platforms
- Identify and report bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies that might disrupt the players' experience
- Document issues meticulously in JIRA, providing clear and concise reports with steps to reproduce and expected behavior.
- Create a checklist of deliverables and core mechanics/features to make sure that projects are properly assessed before being launched.
- Collaborate with developers and production teams to prioritise bugs, provide constructive feedback, and ensure efficient issue resolution
- Stay updated on the ever-evolving metaverse landscape and be enthusiastic about learning new testing methodologies and tools
- Organise on-team and off-team playtests, including the capture of player feedback, impressions, and (where appropriate) recordings.
- Experience with a live-service title, especially with bug triage and prioritisation.
Skills required
- A keen eye for detail, from minor visual issues to game-breaking crashes
- Analytical thinking to dissect issues, identify root causes, and report them thoughtfully
- Strong communication skills to explain things clearly and concisely, collaborating effectively with developers and other team members
- A passion for gaming and the metaverse, understanding the thrill of immersive experiences and excited to help shape the future of virtual worlds
- A drive to learn and grow, eager to expand your knowledge and adapt to new technologies and techniques
- The ability to QA multiple projects in the pipeline and make sure quality assurance is locked in before launching.
Ideal attributes
- Prior experience with Roblox, Fortnite, Zepeto, or other metaverse platforms
- Knowledge of basic testing methodologies and tools (JIRA and TestRail)
- A positive and collaborative attitude
