DECA Games is seeking an experienced Technical Artist to join our growing Realm of the Mad God team and help push our effects and animations to the next level.


  • Create 2D pixel art for Realm of the Mad God (from concept to final art);
  • Create animations and implement them into the engine;
  • Create simple 3D art and bring it into the engine;
  • Use particles and shaders to create VFX in the game engine;
  • Provide hands-on support to engineers in regard to assets performance;
  • Solve challenging technical issues in 2D and 3D asset pipeline;
  • Collaborate with engineers and testers to resolve problems;
Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum 4 year experience in a digital art content creation pipeline in the video game industry;
  • 2−3 years of experience as a VFX Artist in game industry;
  • Professional experience as a Pixel artist;
Skills and Knowledge:

  • Pixel art specialist;
  • Knowledge in modelling and art tools (Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max)
  • Experience in a full digital art content creation pipeline (high and low-poly modelling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, level art);
  • Great artistic skills (proportion, color, composition);
  • Ability to adapt style and be expressive in low-resolution pixel art (8X8);
  • Excellent animation skills;
  • Experience working with Unity 3D;
  • Experience with VFX and particles;
  • Experience with shader development in a 3D modeling package and/or Unity;
  • Ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges;
  • Positive attitude and team player;
Would be a plus:

  • Knowledge in C# and other programming languages;
  • Experience working with Bitbucket and GitHub;
  • Experience working with Jira in a scrum environment;
  • Passion for videogames;
