Astra is seeking an Operations & Finance Manager to join our team. Astra is a new thinky games publisher, and the Operations & Finance Manager will be integral in building a foundation for future growth.
This is a highly collaborative role reporting to the Managing Director. The Manager will assist in ongoing strategic planning and ensure the organization has the tools, processes, and support in place to execute its vision.
We are looking for someone who is a scrappy generalist. If you enjoy high-level planning and then running with all levels of execution, this is the role for you.
We are looking for someone who’s comfortable with ongoing context shifting, thinking outside of the box, and being action-oriented in an ambiguous startup environment. This is a role with room to grow.
Salary Range: $80k-$140k, highly dependent on experience
Responsibilities
- Drive financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Evaluate new game projects through a financial lens and collaborate on portfolio strategy.
- Negotiate and maintain key vendor contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate with external accountants to produce and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
- Manage payroll, benefits, and serve as general backstop for all things HR.
- General go-to for all things team operations.
About you
- Required experience in related work with a gaming developer or publisher.
- Data and process-driven decision making. You like numbers, flowcharts, and creating structure.
- Excel/Sheets savvy.
- Experience overseeing P&Ls.
- Highly organized with fantastic attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting.
Big pluses
- Experience working with legal contracts and documents.
- Experience in indie game sales / managing payback windows.
- Interest in the thinky game space.
