Job Description
As part of the development of a turn-based 3D JRPG for consoles and PC, we are looking for an experienced Game Designer for a permanent position or freelance to join our team around May 2024.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Designing game mechanics and gameplay systems, with a particular focus on the combat system while respecting the initial vision defined by the Creative Direction;
- Implementing game design elements into the game using available tools;
- Optimizing game design through successive iterations and based on playtest results;
- Advocating for your game design needs to the team, whether it be in terms of systems, tools, or other aspects;
- Collaborating with the QA team to test the game, identify errors, and correct them;
- Producing and maintaining up-to-date documentation;
- Overseeing the organization of playtests;
- Contributing to the improvement of production processes;
- Participating in collective brainstorming to enhance the game's quality;
- Engaging in artistic and technical research.
Profile
- You are a compassionate individual and can work in an organized and autonomous manner, as part of a team, while respecting and listening to others.
- You have an excellent knowledge of JRPGs and are capable of analyzing every gameplay element through the lens of game design. You love turn-based systems.
- You have a minimum of two years of experience in game design.
- You have previously worked on a Unity project.
- You are comfortable with 100% remote work. We have offices in Montpellier for those who prefer in-person work, and we are considering establishing offices in other cities in the future.
- You have a good level of spoken and written English. For native English speakers, a basic knowledge of French is required, or at least a willingness to learn it.
Additional Information
Position available in a permanent contract starting from May 2024 – We will also consider freelance applications.
35 hours per week – flexible hours with a core period from 10am to 4pm (with a lunch break of course) – no crunch.
1 self-care day per month
Salary based on your location and experience.
