PerBlue is looking for our next great
Back-End Software Engineer to join our team of experienced developers and game designers. We’re a growing independent studio whose free-to-play midcore mobile games are being played by millions of people around the world, including the award-winning
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode.
Our team brings together experience from major studios in the videogame and technology industries. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, we also work remotely around the United States for an unmatched quality of life and work.
We’ll work together to create amazing experiences for our fans across the world. Developing primarily in C# and Java, you'll work on our back-end platforms to enable our Games-as-a-Service infrastructure. Your quest will be to support our fans in a great gameplay experience while optimizing for the constraints of mobile games.

Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for designing and building backend systems and game features. This includes everything from databases to server logic to network communication to client backend logic and more. You’ll work closely with other developers and designers to meet the demands of the fast paced mobile games industry, leveraging AWS services to architect and support highly reliable server systems capable of handling tens of thousands of concurrent users.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in Java or C# in working team environment required
- Experience working with multi-threaded applications
- Basic network communication understanding

Other Preferred Skills and Experience
- AWS RDS/EC2/S3/DynamoDB experience
- Jenkins/CI/CD experience
- Docker/other container experience
- Javascript/HTML experience
- Prior experience at a game studio (mobile, console, or PC)
